EMDR and trauma therapies
EMDR and trauma therapies in North London
We offer evidence-based therapies to help children, adolescents and adults process and recover from single episode traumatic experiences and complex trauma.
One effective treatment for trauma is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a psychotherapy approach that helps individuals reprocess traumatic memories in a safe and structured environment. It involves a series of guided eye movements, sounds, or taps, that help the individual process the traumatic memory in a new and more adaptive way. EMDR can be used to treat a wide range of traumas, including childhood abuse, domestic violence, car accidents, and medical trauma.
In addition to EMDR, we also offer other therapies to help individuals heal from trauma, including narrative therapy, narrative-exposure therapy, internal family systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These therapies are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual and are delivered in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment.
The therapeutic relationship is so important when working with trauma. If you are considering a trauma therapy, an initial telephone conversation and a consultation will provide you with the opportunity to see if you feel we are the right fit for you.
