Dr Daniel Glazer
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
About me
Finding the right therapist is an important and personal step. As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained to Doctoral level and have nearly 20 years experience working with people affected by trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, depression, and the psychological impact of long-term health conditions.
I spent over a decade working at University College London Hospital, where I supported people living with cancer, diabetes, chronic pain, and medical trauma. In the later part of my career there, I held senior roles, including Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead. I now work solely in private practice, but the experience of working in a leading NHS service continues to shape my practice.
My Approach
My approach is grounded in therapies that are especially effective for trauma, including EMDR, relational therapies, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I offer a reliable and well-established therapeutic practice where clients can work through the effects of trauma, anxiety, grief and difficulties such as low self-esteem and negative self beliefs.. A central focus of my work is safety — building a secure, containing therapeutic relationship is the foundation that allows people to face and process painful experiences. From this base, therapy becomes a collaborative journey: both supportive and gently challenging, enabling you to reduce distress, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater resilience and confidence.
Who I Work With
Adults, adolescents / young adults.
Indivuduals affected by trauma and PTSD (for example, abuse, childhood/attachment trauma, bullying, medical trauma, loss).
Individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or stress.
Clients rebuilding resilience, confidence, and meaning in life.
Although I worked with Children in the NHS, I now only see children where the request is for trauma therapy / EMDR.
A Note on EMDR
Many clients are referred or reach out to see me for trauma therapy and in particular EMDR. I am a registered EMDR practitioner with EMDR UK and also an EMDR Consultant in training. If you are interested in EMDR or would like to hear more about it, please do get in touch.
Alongside my standard EMDR practice I have used (and adapted) an approach called EMDR Storytelling (Narrative). This can be used as a therapy in and of itself or as a part of the standard EMDR therapy. This approach involves us together writing a story (in the third person) of your life. We then use eye movements or taps whilst reading the story in order to process the experiences and update meanings that might continue to cause distress. I have created stories with many clients (from children to adults) and in my experience it can be a meaningful, moving and helpful part of a therapy process. If you are interested in this, please do get in touch.
